TEMPORARILY CLOSED
25 August 2020
Hello Pizza Eaters,
We trust this little note finds you as well as can be expected as we journey this year together.
Recent weeks have been tough as we navigate the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Victoria.
The health and safety of our employees and founders is a number one priority.
This is why we’ve made the tough decision to close for two weeks from Wednesday 26 August 2020.
We will reopen Wednesday 9 September 2020.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to serving you again when we reopen.
Stay safe, stay well, stay home.

GUESS WHO’S BACK?
13 April 2020
Hello Pizza Eaters!
Earth & Soul is back and eager to cook for you from Wednesday 15 April.
We’re offering no contact pick-up and delivery, which will help us reduce the number of people in-store at any one time.
A couple of tips for no contact delivery…
Now that daylight savings is finished, please leave a front light on so our drivers can find your place.
If possible, please put a chair at your front door so our drivers can leave your food in a safe place rather than the ground.
Delivering to: Bairnsdale, East Bairnsdale, Eastwood, Lucknow, West Bairnsdale, Shannon Waters and Wy Yung (inc. Clifton Acres and Hodges Estate).
Place your order at any time of the day using our online service.
Can’t wait to serve you.
Peace love & pizza

COVID-19 CLOSURE
29 March 2020
Hello Pizza Eaters,
After introducing strictly no contact pick-up and delivery this week, we’ve made the tough decision to temporarily close Earth & Soul Pizza for two weeks’, starting Tuesday 31 March 2020.
Please do the right thing: listen to the authorities and stay at home. This will help stop the spread and save lives.
Also, remember to pencil in self-care.
Twenty minutes of exercise in nature, while maintaining social distancing of 1.5 to 2-metres, is a great antidote for cabin fever.
We’ve added some self-care tips below.
Thank you for your continued support.
Follow us on Instagram, Facebook or our website for re-opening updates.
Stay safe, stay well, stay home.

SELF-CARE TIPS
Pencil in daily self-care
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed by everything that’s happening, be reassured that this is a very normal response.
However, it’s important to go easy on yourself and to take time for self-care. Reachout put together a great list of self-care activities that you can do from home. They’ll help you feel a little better and give you a sense of control during a very uncertain time.

COVID-19 UPDATE 23/3/2020
23 March 2020
Dear Happy Pizza Eaters,
As we face this global crisis together, and witness a one-in-a-hundred-year event, adaptation is the new normal.
Like most other businesses, we’re uncertain how long we will be able to trade and how our food collaborators will keep up with demand.
There’s also the concern of liability and risk, so we’re introducing extra health and safety measures to keep everyone safe.
We’re regularly consulting with our employees to ensure they’re happy to work under these circumstances. Everyone’s keen to keep-on-keeping-on.
Day-to-day, we’re changing our business model based on government policy updates. The safety of our employees and customers is our number one priority.
This is why we’re introducing a few more changes to the way we do things, effective Tuesday 24 March 2020.
Thank you for supporting Earth & Soul.

‘No Contact’: the new normal
In accordance with the Victorian Government ruling, we now only offer ‘no contact pick-up’ or ‘no contact delivery’.
To increase health and safety, we’re no longer accepting orders from people walking in off the street. All orders must be placed online or by calling the shop. Our preference is online transactions only.
No Contact Pick-up
When you arrive to collect your order, our crew will ask your name and grab your
order from the holding rack. Your order will be placed onto a table at the front door for you to collect.
Our preference is for all orders to be paid for online. If you need to pay on pick-up, we prefer you use EFTPOS rather than cash. In exceptional circumstances, we will accept cash.
Our crew will hold the EFTPOS machine for you and we ask for no contact to occur with the device please.
No Contact Delivery
Our delivery driver will maintain social distancing by leaving your food at your door. The delivery driver will then leave and call/text to let you know your order is delivered.
Please use the Order Notes to let us know if you require this order to be put in a specific place.
Order online… early
Everyone wants to eat between 6pm and 8pm, so we’re running extra staff in anticipation of this.
We strongly urge you to order early so we can streamline production/distribution and increase social distancing measures.
Remember: stay 1.5 metres away from other customers. We need to maintain social distancing to save lives.
Wait times will increase to 30-45 minutes for pick-up and 60-90 minutes for delivery at the minimum.
Pizza Twosday is on hold
With food costs going through the roof each day, we need to put Pizza Twosday on hold until further notice.
We’re unsure how long we can trade for, or if food shortages will happen, however we will do our best to serve the community.
Food safety is our mantra
You may smell sanitation products on your pizza box when you collect your food.
We’re going the extra mile to ensure everyone is safe! Rest assured it’s food safe hygiene products. We’re also wearing gloves when serving front of house and when delivering.
Eat pizza: save your supplies!
Save your food supplies, avoid the supermarket and order an Earth & Soul pizza or pasta!
Our pasta can also be frozen and reheated, with both pizza and pasta remaining “food safe” in the refrigerator for up to 24-48 hours.
How to reheat a cooked pizza:
Reheating the frozen pizza requires a method that will crisp up the crust. Heating a frozen pizza in the microwave may leave you with a chewy, soggy crust.
Instead, reheat the pizza using the dry heat of a conventional oven to crisp the crust and melt the cheese.
With the proper temperature and techniques, you can reheat an entire pizza or just individual slices. Add extra mozzarella if needed, and adjust cooking temperatures and times to suit your oven.
- Step 1: Allow the pizza to thaw on a plate on the counter for 5-10 minutes.
- Step 2: Heat the oven to 180-200 degrees Celsius.
- Step 3: Place the pizza on a perforated pizza pan – or wire rack if you don’t have a pizza pan.
- Step 4: Set the pizza on the centre rack in the preheated oven.
Allow the pizza to reheat for 5-10 minutes, keeping in mind your oven may require more or less cooking time. When the cheese has melted on top, remove the pizza from the oven.
